InConcert Lebanon
IN CONCERT is a catalyst for discovery and development of actual music in Lebanon. Its mission is to decentralize musical activities from Beirut towards non-conventional spaces within the capital and then to other cities and towns.
IN CONCERT provides the opportunity for talented musicians, young and/or professional, national and/or international with different styles a space where the public turns up with the sole aim of listening to music.
IN CONCERT equally hopes to initiate exchanges between professionals and amateurs at the national and international levels through jam sessions and workshops.
1. IN CONCERT aims for the diffusion of
• upcoming amateur musicians performing for the first time
• professionals performing in original contexts and unusual venues
• the support of various, innovate, alternatives musical projects
2. IN CONCERT is in favor of artistic creativity through

• “Jam session” concerts between professionals and amateurs
• concerts, interactive encounters in a space where artists can communicate and associate freely

John Cage Workshops
Professor Katharine Cartwright, NY, will be hosted by the Lebanese National Conservatory for the first 3 weeks of June. She shall be giving a workshop. Subject: American 20th century composer: John Cage - Open form composition.
This workshop is free of charge and open to all. It will take place at the National Conservatory, Zokak el Blat, every Tuesday and Friday at 17:00. A didactic concert will follow, June 20th, Auditorium Pierre Abi Khater, featuring John cage pieces as well as a composition by Joelle Khoury.

Fete de la Musique in Beirut
If you want to join in the Music Feast of Beirut, it takes place on the Wednesday 21 June. This is an event of international dimensions, taking place concurrently in 100s of cities in the world. This year, as before, many events will take place in different streets in Beirut.

The Beirut International Dance Platform of Dance (BIPOD)
Magnhild Rem Fossum, a Norwegian Choreographer and dancer is auditioning dancers and actors for a work in progress that will take place in Beirut during the month of July 2006 and then will be developed into a dance performance that will be premiered in Beirut.
Dates: Monday 22nd between 15h00 and 17h00
Thursday 25th between 17h00 and 20h00 Place: Theatre Monnot
Magnhild graduated from the "London Contemporary Dance School- The Place" in 1998. She has been developing work that combines different styles of dance; Contemporary dance theatre, Classical Ballet, Marshal Arts, and Indian Classical dance. Her interest at the moment is to explore other cultural structures of the body and to build material that reflects contemporary movement dynamics.

(Organized by the Spannish Embassy)
The recital is on guitar. Ruibal is an author, a composer and a performer. His style is influenced by Jazz and Rock.

Chacun des participants exprimera à sa manière son adhésion aux valeurs de la diversité culturelle dont le respect du droit à la différence et le droit à la liberté d’expression.
Le Festival est l’occasion pour les artistes de contribuer à consolider les liens entre les deux rives de la Méditerranée et d’échanger leurs expériences dans le domaine du poème chanté.
